The wreckage of the jet that took off from Sivrihisar and crashed while heading to Rize was found on the Rize-Bayburt border. Images of the moments when the JAK team discovered the wreckage have emerged, showing a female passenger, who was injured, waving at the camera when she saw the rescue teams.

After the emergency call from passenger Hicran Kaya, who was taken on board by pilot Demirci to fly from Sivrihisar to Rize, teams initiated search and rescue operations in the area. A military helicopter participated in the search efforts, and AFAD teams from surrounding provinces also provided support.

The wreckage of the aircraft was found by the JAK team at the Rize-Bayburt border. Rize Governor İhsan Selim Baydaş announced that passenger Hicran Kaya was rescued with injuries, while pilot Mehmet Demirci lost his life.
