A BYD Seal U DM-i owner in Ankara reported that the trunk of their vehicle broke after placing a 24-pack of soda and an 18-liter bottle of water in it. The authorized service considered the situation a "customer error" and stated that it was not covered by the warranty. The vehicle owner argued that this was a factory-related issue and requested a free replacement.
A citizen living in Ankara expressed his frustration with the brand, stating that the trunk board of his newly acquired BYD Seal U DM-i model vehicle broke under the load after shopping.
ISSUE WITH THE NEWLY DELIVERED VEHICLE
The citizen placed 24 bottles of soda and 18 liters of bottled water in the trunk of the vehicle he received from the BYD Efe Ankara dealership on July 20, 2025, after shopping on July 26. However, during this process, the board on the trunk floor collapsed and broke.
"CUSTOMER ERROR" WAS STATED
The user, who took his vehicle to the service, said that the photos taken were sent to the center, but he was informed that it was a "customer error" and not covered by the warranty. The aggrieved citizen reported that the staff at the service mentioned that a similar breakage occurred in another vehicle of the same model when meat was placed in the trunk during the Eid al-Adha.
FACTORY-RELATED ERROR
The vehicle owner, who stated that he has worked in after-sales services for 12 years, argued that the breaking of the trunk board with such a low weight is a factory-related error. The citizen requested that the issue be evaluated under warranty and that a free replacement be made.
