In Yalova, police officer Yasin Koçyiğit, who was martyred in an operation against the terrorist organization ISIS, was bid farewell to his final journey in his hometown of Şereflikoçhisar, Ankara, amidst tears. During the funeral ceremony, the martyr's mother, Hatice Koçyiğit, wept as she embraced her son's photo, calling him "my dear." Our martyr's daughter, İrem, also said her final goodbye, expressing, "I am proud of my father."
Police officer Yasin Koçyiğit (49), who was martyred in the operation against the terrorist organization ISIS in Yalova, was bid farewell on his final journey in his hometown of Şereflikoçhisar, Ankara. During the funeral ceremony, his mother Hatice Koçyiğit shed tears at her son's coffin, calling him "my lamb."
The funeral of Yasin Koçyiğit, one of the three police officers who reached martyrdom in the clash during the operation against the ISIS terrorist organization, was brought to Ankara after the ceremony held in Yalova. A funeral ceremony was held for Koçyiğit, who was married and a father of two, at the Şereflikoçhisar Tatbikat Mosque in the afternoon.
In addition to the martyr's family and relatives, the ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Interior Mehmet Sağlam, DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan, MHP Deputy Chairman Mevlüt Karakaya, 4th Corps and Ankara Garrison Commander Major General Ahmet Kurumahmut, Provincial Police Chief Engin Dinç, and many citizens.
A MOTHER'S CRY BROKE HEARTS
The martyr's wife Sultan Koçyiğit and daughters Hatice and Sıla struggled to stand during the ceremony, while mother Hatice Koçyiğit could not hold back her tears as she embraced her son's photo before the funeral prayer.
"I AM PROUD OF MY DAD"
The martyr's daughter İrem Koçyiğit expressed her feelings at the head of the coffin, saying, "I am proud of my dad. He was very brave, he was the best person in the world."
After the funeral prayer, Yasin Koçyiğit was laid to rest in tears at the Mezgit Village Cemetery.
