In Aksaray, two of our soldiers were martyred and one civilian lost their life as a result of a minibus crashing into a gendarmerie vehicle on the highway. In the horrific accident, three other people were injured and taken to the hospital. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the identities of the soldiers who were martyred in the accident were Gendarmerie Sergeant Major Kemal Özgür and Specialist Gendarmerie Corporal Arif Özdemir.

A minibus with the license plate 34 FD 8096 collided from behind with a gendarmerie vehicle with the license plate 68 JAA 150, which was conducting a routine check on the emergency lane near the Ortaköy district of Aksaray on the Ankara-Niğde highway. One injured military personnel could not be saved despite intervention at Aksaray Training and Research Hospital, where they were taken by ambulance. Three people injured in the accident were hospitalized.
IDENTITIES OF THE MARTYRS HAVE BEEN REVEALED
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the identities of the soldiers who were martyred in the accident. Minister Yerlikaya stated, "May our nation's head be held high. J. Asb. Çvş. Kemal Özgür and Uzm.J.VI.Kad.Çvş. Arif Özdemir, who served under the command of the Aksaray Provincial Gendarmerie Command, were martyred as a result of a minibus colliding with their patrol vehicle. I pray for God's mercy on our heroic martyrs; I extend my condolences to their families, our Gendarmerie Organization, and our Nation. May the rank of our martyrs be exalted."
GOVERNOR KUMBUZOĞLU: 2 INJURED IN SERIOUS CONDITION
Aksaray Governor Mehmet Ali Kumbuzoğlu, speaking to reporters in front of the emergency service of Aksaray Training and Research Hospital, expressed their sadness over the accident that occurred in the morning. Stating that identity determination efforts are ongoing, Kumbuzoğlu noted:
"The accident occurred during a routine check conducted by the gendarmerie team on the emergency lane. Unfortunately, 2 of our gendarmerie personnel have been martyred, and one of our citizens has also passed away. The treatment of our injured citizens is ongoing at Aksaray Training and Research Hospital. Two of them are in serious condition, and one is stable. Judicial and administrative investigations regarding the incident are ongoing. Information regarding developments will be shared with you. I pray for God's mercy on our martyrs and the deceased citizen. I also extend my condolences to their relatives."
