Due to the drop in watermelon prices in Adana to 1-2 TL, some producers chose to destroy their products in the fields instead of selling them. Farmers reacted to the fact that watermelons, which are sold for 15 TL in supermarkets, are not valued in the fields.

In Adana, one of Turkey's watermelon production centers, producers are experiencing disappointment this season. Watermelons, which have dropped to a price of 1-2 TL per kilogram in the fields, are left unsold in the hands of the producers. Some farmers, who do not receive the fruits of their labor, have expressed their frustration by smashing the watermelons they harvested instead of selling them.

"IS IT RIGHT TO WASTE?"

In response to the producers' video, which protested the sale of watermelons they produced at a price of 14-15 TL in markets, comments such as "Okay, protest, but not by wasting the bounty," "Is it right to waste?", "The Dutch farmers' ministry determines which products they will plant in the next 10 years. This year, whatever product is profitable, all farmers will plant that product next year," and "Don't do it, uncle, they will write you a fine" were made.
