NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE, ONLY FURNITURE SHOOK

No loss of life, injuries, or structural damage was reported from the earthquakes. The region's civil protection agency announced to local media that approximately 2,000 people were evacuated from the coastal areas of Argentina.

The only reported issue in Argentina was the shaking of some structures and the movement of furniture during the tremors. However, officials and local residents continue to remain vigilant against aftershocks.

Local authorities advised the public to be prepared to evacuate their homes and workplaces if they feel another significant tremor. The statement said, "Talk to your family to ease your mind and read official information sources."

EVACUATION ORDER ISSUED FOR COASTAL AREAS

Following the earthquake, authorities announced a series of measures. The Tierra del Fuego Civil Protection Secretariat stated that an evacuation order was issued as a precaution in the coastal areas of the province.

The secretariat noted that there was no loss of life or property in the earthquake, and all activities in the Beagle Channel were temporarily suspended, with residents of the coastal town of Puerto Almanza, located 75 kilometers east of Ushuaia, being asked to move to higher and safer areas.

Alicia Cebrian Lopez, Director of the Chilean National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred), stated in her announcement that the tsunami warning for the Antarctic region had been canceled.

Lopez said, "According to assessments, there is no longer a possibility of a new tsunami in the Chilean Antarctic region. Evacuated individuals can return to the base. However, the situation continues for the rest of the Magallanes region. This is the point we will continue to monitor."

Chilean President Gabriel Boric also stated in his announcement that he met with local authorities at the Presidential Palace La Moneda due to developments in the Magallanes region.
