Seventeen-year-old Eylül Mengüllü, who was allegedly shot in the head by her 19-year-old sister with psychological issues in the Samandağ district of Hatay, lost her six-day battle for life in the hospital where she was being treated. While the sister was admitted to a mental health and diseases hospital, three suspects who provided her with the weapon were arrested.

On January 7, in the Mağaracık neighborhood of Samandağ district in Hatay, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene following reports from citizens who heard gunshots coming from a container in the early morning. Upon arrival, the teams found Eylül Mengüllü (17) shot in the head with a gun inside the container. After the initial intervention by the teams, Mengüllü was taken to the hospital for treatment.

EYLÜL WAS SHOT BY HER SISTER

The police, who initiated an investigation into the incident, determined that Mengüllü was shot by her sister E.M. (19). E.M., along with S.Y., D.S., and M.Ç., who were identified as having provided her with the weapon, were taken into custody during raids at their addresses.

A CACHE OF WEAPONS WAS FOUND IN THE CONTAINER

The teams seized a gun, magazine, and bullets determined to have been used in the incident from a chicken coop located about 200 meters away from the container. During searches at the suspects' addresses, they found 1 Kalashnikov brand long-barreled rifle, a magazine for this weapon, 100 bullets, 3 handguns, 4 shotguns, numerous cartridges, 3 knives, 111,000 TL, 300 dollars, 123 grams of marijuana, a marijuana grinder, a precision scale, rifle scopes, and accessories.

3 SUSPECTS WHO PROVIDED WEAPONS WERE ARRESTED

After their procedures, E.M. and the individuals who provided her with weapons, S.Y., D.S., and M.Ç., were brought before the judge. The court decided to admit E.M., who was claimed to have psychological issues, to Adana Dr. Ekrem Tok Mental Health and Diseases Hospital, while S.Y., D.S., and M.Ç. were arrested.

THE YOUNG GIRL LOST HER 6-DAY FIGHT FOR LIFE

Eylül Mengüllü, who was undergoing treatment in the hospital, passed away this morning despite the doctors' intervention. Mengüllü's body was taken to the morgue for autopsy.
