In the container city in Kırıkhan, Hatay, the suspect of the armed attack in which Cemile Yıldırım was killed and her husband Hüseyin Yıldırım and their 10-year-old daughter were seriously injured has been arrested. Mehmet Demir, the Director of Culture and Social Affairs of Kırıkhan Municipality, is the suspect. It has been revealed that Demir was tried without detention for allegedly molesting the young girl while providing food aid to the Yıldırım family four years ago, and that the hearing of the case was held on the day of the incident. It was also learned that the suspect carried out an armed attack on a witness who did not attend the hearing.

ALLEGATION OF "HARASSMENT" WHILE PROVIDING FOOD AID
The incident occurred yesterday around 5:30 PM at the Mavi Hilal Container City in the Bahçelievler neighborhood. According to the allegation, Mehmet Demir, the Director of Culture and Social Affairs of Kırıkhan Municipality, was accused of harassing the family's daughter M.D.Y., who was 6 years old at the time, while providing food aid to Hüseyin Yıldırım four years ago. A lawsuit was filed against Mehmet Demir upon the family's complaint. The suspect, who denied the allegations, attended the hearing of the case yesterday. The municipal police officer who was with Mehmet Demir during the incident and was presented as a witness also did not attend the hearing.

After the hearing, Mehmet Demir, who was enraged and is a former specialist sergeant, went to the container city where the Yıldırım family, with whom he had a lawsuit, lived. Demir first shot Cemile Yıldırım, who opened the door with a gun, then Hüseyin Yıldırım, and finally M.D.Y., who accused him. Upon the gunfire, health and police teams were dispatched to the container city. The fleeing suspect went to the annex building of Kırıkhan Municipality and also fired three shots at the municipal police officer Y.G.B., who did not attend the hearing. Y.G.B. was not injured, and the suspect fled.

Health teams that arrived at the container city where the first attack took place determined that Cemile Yıldırım had died. The injured Hüseyin Yıldırım and his daughter M.D.Y. were taken to Kırıkhan State Hospital for treatment. The seriously injured were transferred from there to Hatay Training and Research Hospital. It was reported that Hüseyin Yıldırım stated on the way that they were shot by Mehmet Demir. Yıldırım, whose heart stopped in the hospital, was revived after a long intervention. The treatment of the father and daughter in intensive care continues. The suspect, Mehmet Demir, who was determined to have fled to the İskenderun district of Hatay after the incident, was caught by the police in an operation at the address where he was hiding. Demir was arrested after his statement was taken at the duty court he was referred to.
