Samsun Metropolitan Municipality is continuing its efforts for the Selahattin Ereren Drinking Water Treatment Plant, which will secure the city's drinking water infrastructure for many years. With a project worth 1.7 billion Turkish lira, the largest drinking and wastewater laboratory and storage building in the Black Sea will be established in Samsun.

The Samsun Metropolitan Municipality is resolutely continuing its investments that will meet the current infrastructure needs of the city while securing the future. In this context, a significant effort is being made on the construction of the Selahattin Ereren Drinking Water Treatment Plant, which has a daily capacity of 200 thousand cubic meters of drinking water, initiated by the General Directorate of SASKİ to respond to the increasing water needs in the Tekkeköy district.

CONSTRUCTION WORKS PROGRESSING SIMULTANEOUSLY: 1.7 BILLION TL INVESTMENT

Within the scope of the project, which has an investment cost of 1.7 billion TL, the curtain manufacturing in the first chamber of the water reservoir, which is being built with 2 chambers, has been completed, while the rebar works for the slab are ongoing. In the second chamber, the foundation works have been completed, and the curtain reinforced concrete works are continuing.

As the foundation works in the storage building near completion, curtain and socket manufacturing are continuing simultaneously. Insulation applications and gravel filling works are being carried out in areas where the foundation and curtain works have been completed. While the exterior cladding works with clinker bricks are ongoing in the existing clarifier building, maintenance, repair, and renovation works in the accommodation and dining buildings within the facility are also being carried out continuously.

With the completion of the works, Samsun's daily drinking water treatment capacity will reach 200 thousand cubic meters. The project, which will be among the largest facilities in the Black Sea Region, plans to include the largest drinking water and wastewater laboratory in the Black Sea, as well as the largest storage building among the water and sewerage administrations in the region. Additionally, a comprehensive modernization work will be carried out in the existing treatment plant.
