WHO IS CELAL MÜMTAZ AKINCI?Celal Mümtaz Akıncı served as the Bar Association President in his hometown of Afyonkarahisar for nearly 10 years. During his tenure, Akıncı exhibited a collaborative management style with individuals from various backgrounds and viewpoints. Later, he received the highest votes in an election held by Bar Association Presidents, becoming one of the three candidates sent to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), and in 2010, he was elected as a member of the Constitutional Court (AYM) by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Akıncı served as a member of the AYM for nearly 12 years and was then elected as the President of the Court of Jurisdictional Disputes. SIGNED HISTORICAL DECISIONSAkıncı played a significant role in critical cases that have almost become symbols of the quest for rights and justice in the public eye. Some of the decisions he signed are as follows: - He voted in favor of "Violation of Rights" in the case involving Can Dündar and Erdem Gül.

In 2022, Akıncı retired from his position and joined the DEVA Party. He was elected as a member of the DEVA Party's Central Decision and Executive Board (GMYK) at the Ordinary Grand Congress held on October 12, 2024, and was appointed as the Deputy Chairman responsible for Legal Affairs.
