A 43-year-old man working as a cleaning staff in a hospital in Adana, who has been living with a prosthetic leg since being shot while trying to break up a fight in 2005, was sent to prison after being defrauded by a person to whom he provided his IBAN to collect a debt of 700 TL.
A 43-year-old man named T.T., who worked as a cleaning staff in a hospital in Adana and has been living with a prosthetic leg since being shot while trying to break up a fight in 2005, was imprisoned on charges of fraud. T.T. was prosecuted because the IBAN he provided to collect 700 TL was used in the fraud.
According to the allegation, a person who came to the pigeon café and introduced himself as Ö.K. borrowed 700 TL from T.T. after taking pigeons and various materials. The suspect, claiming he had no money, stated that he would make the payment a few days later.
PROVIDED MONEY FLOW THROUGH IBAN
Later, the suspect called T.T. and asked for the IBAN number, saying that his father would send money from Diyarbakır. After receiving 700 TL that came to T.T.'s account, T.T. gave the remaining amount to the suspect. After this process was repeated several times, T.T. became suspicious and requested that no more money be sent to his account.
However, upon investigation, it was revealed that different individuals had also sent money to the same IBAN, and the suspect introduced himself as a commander, collecting money from citizens under the pretext of "sacrifices will be made for martyr families."
PUNISHMENT CONFIRMED
In the case opened after the incident, T.T. was initially sentenced to 7 years, 9 months, and 22 days in prison. After the appeal process, the sentence was confirmed as 5 years, 2 months, and 15 days in the retrial. T.T., who was taken from his home by the teams as part of the wanted persons, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station and was later sent to prison.
