The matches of Galatasaray and Samsunspor in the 27th week of the Super League, who advanced to the last 16 of the European cups, have been postponed to a later date due to UEFA competitions.
Galatasaray and Samsunspor, who advanced to the last 16 of the European cups, have had their matches in the 27th week of the Trendyol Super League automatically postponed to a later date.
Galatasaray, representing Turkey in Europe, advanced to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League by defeating Italy's Juventus in the last 16 playoff round. Samsunspor, which is in the UEFA Conference League, also continued its journey by eliminating North Macedonia's representative Shkendija in the last 16 playoff round.
Fenerbahçe, competing in the last 16 playoff round of the UEFA Europa League, was eliminated by the English representative Nottingham Forest.
The yellow-red team will play the first match of the last 16 round in the "Champions League" at home against Liverpool or Tottenham on March 10 or 11, and the return match will be played away on March 17 or 18. The Samsun representative will play its last 16 round matches in the Conference League against Shakhtar Donetsk or Rayo Vallecano on March 12 and 19.
Therefore, the matches between Göztepe-Galatasaray and Çaykur Rizespor-Samsunspor, which will be held in the 27th week of the Super League on March 17, 18, or 19, have been postponed to a later date.
TFF has advanced the schedule for the National Team
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) had moved the matches of the 27th week in the Super League three days earlier for the playoff matches of the A National Football Team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The crescent-star team will face Romania at home on Thursday, March 26, in the semi-finals of the playoff round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers. If the national team overcomes the Romanian obstacle, they will compete against the winner of the Slovakia-Kosovo match in the final away on Tuesday, March 31.
The TFF moved the matches of the 27th week, which will be played on March 20, 21, and 22, to March 17, 18, and 19, so that the A National Team can work together more and that the national football players playing in Turkish leagues do not get worn out before the Romania match.
The Turkish Football Federation announced in the statement regarding this decision that if the teams competing in European cups advance to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League on March 17, 18, and 19, their league matches in the 27th week will be postponed to a later date.
