In Eyüpsultan, Istanbul, two siblings aged 4 and 2 were taken to the hospital after falling ill following a meal. After their initial treatment, the children were discharged, but they fell ill again the next day and, despite medical interventions, lost their lives. The mother, Aleyna Birkent, suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized. The police and the prosecutor's office have launched an investigation into the incident.

In Eyüpsultan, Istanbul, two siblings aged 4 and 2 fell ill after eating their meal. The two siblings were hospitalized on suspicion of poisoning and unfortunately lost their lives.

The incident occurred on September 22 in the Topçular neighborhood of Eyüpsultan. According to the information obtained, father Yücel Birkent, mother Aleyna Birkent, and their children Alparslan (4) and Melisa Rabia Birkent (2) went to the hospital with complaints of vomiting after eating their meal. During the examinations, it was determined that mother Aleyna Birkent had suffered a heart attack and was placed under treatment. The father and children were discharged after their initial interventions.

BOTH LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE HOSPITAL

The next morning, after the children fell ill again, father Yücel Birkent took them back to the hospital. The condition of the two siblings worsened at the hospital where they were being treated, and despite all interventions, they could not be saved and passed away.

AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED

Following the incident, an investigation was launched by the police and the prosecutor's office. The siblings, one aged 4 and the other 2, who lost their lives in the incident, were buried in the Boğazköy Köyiçi Cemetery located in Arnavutköy. The investigation related to the incident is ongoing.
