The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a warning for the expected heavy rainfall across the country. It is predicted that intermittent showers and thunderstorms will occur in Istanbul over the next week. Meanwhile, the Meteorology Department has issued a "yellow" alert for Muğla and Antalya due to thunderstorms and potential adverse conditions.
According to the forecasts made by the General Directorate of Meteorology; the general weather of our country is expected to be partly cloudy and occasionally very cloudy, with rain and showers in the eastern Marmara, Western Mediterranean, Tekirdağ, İzmir, Aydın, Muğla, Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya, Zonguldak, Bolu, Düzce, Erzincan, Tunceli regions, the coastal areas of Kırklareli, the south of Ankara and Eskişehir, the north and west of Konya, and the west of Erzurum. It is predicted that the southern Aegean coasts and the western Mediterranean coasts will experience thunderstorms and heavy showers. The rainfall is expected to be locally strong in the Muğla and Antalya regions. Fog and local mist are expected in the inner and eastern regions during the morning and night hours.
The air temperature is expected to be above the seasonal norms. Generally, light to moderate winds are expected to blow from the north in the northwestern and southeastern parts of the country.
HEAVY RAIN IN ISTANBUL ON MONDAY
It is predicted that in Istanbul, the air temperatures will continue to be between 11-14 degrees, around and occasionally above seasonal norms, with intermittent rain and thunderstorms expected throughout the next week. According to the latest forecasts, heavy rain is expected in Istanbul, especially on Monday, December 22.
YELLOW CODE WARNING FOR 2
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a "yellow" code warning for Antalya and Muğla against thunderstorms and heavy rain.
Due to the expected local heavy rainfall in the Muğla and Antalya regions, the Meteorology warned to be cautious and prepared against adverse conditions such as floods, water accumulation, lightning, disruptions in transportation, strong winds during rainfall, and the risk of tornadoes in coastal areas.
