MINISTER IŞIKHAN ANNOUNCED
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan announced that the cost of minimum wage support for 2025 is projected to be between 70 and 82 billion lira. The minimum wage, which was 184 lira in 2002, has increased nominally by 119 times and 4 times in real terms by 2025.
MINIMUM WAGE RISES TO 630 DOLLARS
When evaluated in terms of dollars and euros, the minimum wage was 127 dollars in 2002, while it has risen to 630 dollars in 2025; it was 144 euros in 2002, and today it has increased to 605 euros. According to the news in Türkiye Gazetesi, the government continues to provide support to employers for their employees in addition to the minimum wage support.
SUPPORT FOR EMPLOYERS
The government, which provided 441 billion lira in support for 2 million 41 thousand workplaces and 13 million 276 thousand insured individuals, has also granted 32.8 billion lira in loans to 5 thousand businesses and 104 billion lira in loans to 213 thousand tradespeople through a treasury-backed guarantee system.
