Minister of Commerce Ömer Bolat stated in a written statement, "Our Ministry regularly collects data on price changes in real estate advertisements from electronic announcement platforms, and closely monitors the price changes in the advertisements. Administrative sanctions are imposed on real estate businesses that disrupt the market by significantly increasing the advertisement prices during the period the advertisement is published and engage in unfair commercial practices by facilitating exorbitant increases, in accordance with Article 18, Paragraph 1 of Law No. 6585 on the Regulation of Retail Trade, titled 'Criminal Provisions.' To date, a total administrative fine of 101 million 200 thousand TL has been imposed on 1,012 real estate businesses that have been found to have made exorbitant increases in advertisement prices, with each real estate business fined 100 thousand TL." Minister Bolat emphasized that those trying to take advantage of possible decreases in credit interest rates and campaigns related to housing will not be allowed to do so.
AUTHORITY VERIFICATION FOR REAL ESTATE SALES ADVERTISEMENTS
Minister Bolat stated, "In addition, in line with the objectives of preventing fake advertisements, preventing speculative price increases, and eliminating advertisement pollution on electronic service platforms, an amendment has been made to the Regulation on Real Estate Trade, imposing an obligation for identity and authority verification for advertisement platforms. As of November 1, 2023, identity verifications for real or legal persons wishing to advertise will be carried out through the Electronic Advertisement Verification System (EAVS) established within our Ministry, integrated with the advertisement platforms. This ensures that individuals who do not verify their identity cannot post advertisements through the advertisement platforms. The authority verification application, which is the second phase of EAVS, will become mandatory for rental real estate advertisements as of January 1, 2025. In the upcoming period, the authority verification application will also be made mandatory for real estate sales advertisements. With the EAVS authority verification application, advertisements can only be posted by the property owner, the first and second-degree relatives of the property owner, or real estate businesses authorized through the EAVS authorization screen on e-Government by the property owner."
