The fire, which was quickly extinguished by the ferry staff, reignited after a while. Later, the fire was completely extinguished with the activation of the ferry's extinguishing systems. Due to the smoke that emerged as a result of the fire, some passengers and ferry personnel fainted.
THEY WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL
With the ferry docking at the BUDO Pier in Mudanya district, the Bursa Sea Police, Coast Guard Command, fire department, and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the area to evacuate the passengers. Those affected by the smoke were transferred to nearby hospitals after initial interventions.
"ALL OUR PASSENGERS HAVE BEEN EVACUATED SAFELY"
In a statement made by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, it was noted that a small-scale fire occurred in the engine room due to technical strain in one of the ship's engines at 19:50.
The statement indicated that the fire was immediately intervened by the ship's crew and brought under control, and it was recorded: "After the incident, the ship was safely docked at the Mudanya Pier under adverse weather conditions, where the wave height reached 3 meters, using only one engine. All our passengers have been evacuated safely. A detailed technical investigation regarding this incident has been initiated, and all necessary measures will continue to be implemented decisively to ensure the highest level of safety in maritime transportation."
