In Antalya, Yunus Emre Çetin stabbed and killed a young man he met online during a dispute. Later, to destroy evidence, Çetin threw the victim's mobile phone into a septic pit and was caught two hours after the incident. The mobile phone he threw into the septic pit was also found, and the suspect was arrested and sent to prison.
A chilling incident occurred on February 17 at around 19:00 in the apartment on 846 Street in the Toros neighborhood of the Konyaaltı district of Antalya. İlhan Çobanoğlu (26) invited Yunus Emre Çetin (21), whom he had met online some time ago, to his home.
STABBED THE YOUNG MAN TO DEATH In the evening, a discussion between Çobanoğlu and Çetin quickly escalated into a fight. During the struggle, Yunus Emre Çetin repeatedly stabbed İlhan Çobanoğlu in the face and back with a knife he took from the kitchen. Çobanoğlu lost his life, and the suspect fled.
CAUGHT IN 2 HOURS Teams from the Antalya Police Department's Public Order Branch determined the suspect's escape route through security camera footage and fieldwork. Yunus Emre Çetin was caught in the Aksu district about 2 hours after the incident. He was sent to the courthouse and arrested on charges of 'intentional murder.'
PHONE THROWN INTO SEPTIC TANK FOUND As part of the investigation into the incident, it was determined that Çobanoğlu's mobile phone, wallet, and some valuable items were not in the house. The suspect stated in his testimony that he took the victim's mobile phone to destroy evidence and threw it into a septic pit in Kepez. During a search of the septic pit by the teams, the mobile phone was found. The phone has been taken for examination, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
