After the arrest of Ümit Özdağ, the Chairman of the Victory Party, new appointments were made in the Presidential Board that convened. Deputy Chairman Mehmet Ali Şehirlioğlu was appointed as Acting Chairman, and Board Member Musa Ertugan was assigned as the Deputy Chairman responsible for Organizations.
After the arrest of the Victory Party's General Chairman Ümit Özdağ, the Executive Board of the Victory Party convened at the party's headquarters.
THE NAME TO ACT AS A DEPUTY FOR ÖZADAĞ HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED
Victory Party Secretary General Cezmi Polat announced after the Executive Board Meeting that Deputy Chairman Mehmet Ali Şehirlioğlu has been appointed as Acting Chairman. Polat also stated that Board Member Musa Ertugan has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman responsible for Organizations.

Mehmet Ali Şehirlioğlu, who has been appointed as Acting Chairman, stated in his speech: "Today, the conscience of the Turkish nation has been arrested, its spirit has been arrested, its future has been arrested. Today, the happy future of our grandchildren and children has been arrested. Today, our General Chairman Prof. Dr. Ümit Özdağ has been arrested. Everything is unfolding before your eyes. You all see that the government and its partners are making and implementing decisions in a manner contrary to law, ethics, and the tradition of the Turkish state. We are complaining to you about this situation, and our request from the Great Turkish Nation is to stand by the members of the Victory Party."

Şehirlioğlu, who stated that party activities will continue uninterrupted, said, "We will continue to oppose the recognition of the terrorist leader. We will never accept any change that harms the national integrity and legal personality of the Turkish Nation as stated in our Constitution, and we will continue to fulfill our duty of warning. Therefore, starting from tomorrow, we will continue our activities as before and we will hold our İzmir rally together on January 26, 2025. From now on, every member of the Victory Party is an Ümit Özdağ. The Great Turkish Nation will not forgive the injustice done and will hold you accountable when the time comes," he said.
