It has been determined that Yunus Emre Sarban, the terrorist killed in the conflict in front of the building where the Israeli Consulate is located in Istanbul, was involved in a fight in 2018 in Adana, where he killed his step-cousin over a disagreement regarding the care of his aunt. It has been learned that Sarban's father, Ahmet Sarban, was arrested in connection with the fight that resulted in the murder.

In Beşiktaş, Istanbul, around 12:00 yesterday, three attackers armed with long-barreled weapons opened fire on police officers who were taking security measures in front of the plaza where the Israeli Consulate is located. A clash erupted as police teams returned fire. In the clash, one of the attackers, Yunus Emre Sarban (32), was killed, while the other two were neutralized with injuries, and two police officers were lightly injured.

It has emerged that Yunus Emre Sarban, who was killed in the clash, was involved in a fight on February 6, 2018, in the Kiremithane neighborhood of Yüreğir district in Adana, where Ahmet Kalo (28) lost his life. It was reported that Sarban brought his aunt Hayriye Kalo to his father's house, saying, "We can take better care of her," which led to a dispute with the woman's step-son, Ahmet Kalo. In the ensuing fight, Sarban's father, Ahmet Sarban, stabbed Ahmet Kalo in the chest, and Kalo, who fled by getting into a car, died in the hospital. After being detained and brought to court, Ahmet Sarban was arrested, while Yunus Emre Sarban was released under judicial control.

The number of detentions has increased following the terrorist attack in front of the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul. After the clash yesterday, three people were detained in the area, while two others were captured with injuries. With today's new operation, the number of detentions has risen to 10.
