The ceiling price system that has been in place for domestic flights in Turkey for a long time is being renewed starting from 2026. With the new regulation, the upper limit will be 3,710 TL for 70% of the tickets, while it will be 6,100 TL for the remaining 30%.
The ceiling price application valid for domestic flights in Turkey has been revised in line with expectations from the aviation sector. The new pricing system will come into effect on January 1, 2026.
NEW TWO-TIER CEILING
According to information provided by Herdem Aviation, two separate ceiling prices will be applied for tickets sold on domestic flights:
- Ceiling price for 70% of the tickets: 3,710 TL
- Ceiling price for the remaining 30%: 6,100 TL
This pricing means that passengers may encounter tickets with different ceiling prices on the same flight.
WILL BE VALID FOR ALL DOMESTIC FLIGHTS
New ceiling price structure:
- Applicable to all domestic flights,
- Only one-way,
- Economy class,
- Valid for direct flights.
In connecting flights, the total fare can increase to nearly double, as in the current application. On the other hand, there are no ceiling price restrictions for business class tickets applied at certain points.
UPDATED UPON SECTOR DEMAND
The regulation is said to have been made in response to the demands of sector representatives who highlighted increases in costs such as fuel and operational expenses. With the new system, it is aimed to slightly increase the pricing flexibility of companies and maintain the balance in the domestic market.
