As deaths due to counterfeit alcohol have significantly increased in Turkey recently, a concerning development occurred in Ankara. The number of people who lost their lives due to fake alcohol in the capital has risen to 38, while the number of those arrested as part of the investigation initiated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has reached 19.
The Governor of Ankara, Vasip Şahin, announced that 33 people have died due to counterfeit alcohol in the city, and 20 others are being treated in intensive care. According to the information received, the number of deaths caused by counterfeit alcohol has risen to 38.
THE NUMBER OF DETAINEES HAS INCREASED TO 19
As part of the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the number of detainees has increased from 17 to 19.
A CONTACT TRACING TEAM HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED
Additionally, it was reported that a contact tracing team has been established in the investigation aimed at identifying those who produce and consume counterfeit alcohol.
