In Uludağ, where the weekend crowd was intense, vacationers returning in the evening faced a traffic ordeal. Due to vehicles without snow tires and chains, a long queue of cars formed on the road leading from Uludağ to the city center, leaving thousands of people stuck on the road for hours.
Uludağ, one of Turkey's important winter tourism centers, was filled with families and day visitors taking advantage of the weekend holiday. The Hotels Area and the slopes experienced significant activity due to the intense interest from local and foreign tourists.
SLOPES FILLED, HOLIDAYMAKERS ENJOYED THE TASTE OF WOMEN
As the occupancy rates in accommodation facilities increased, there was a crowd throughout the day on the ski slopes. With day visitors also coming to the area, entertainment and winter sports were at the forefront in Uludağ throughout the weekend.
RETURN TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE
In the evening hours, as holidaymakers began to return, the road descending from Uludağ to the city center of Bursa was virtually blocked. Vehicles without snow tires and chains caused traffic to come to a standstill.
KILOMETERS OF VEHICLE QUEUES FORMED
On the road stretching from the summit to the city center, vehicle queues extended for kilometers. Thousands of holidaymakers were stranded for a long time on the closed road.
Due to the congestion, gendarmerie teams increased security measures in the area. Drivers without chains and snow tires faced difficult moments, while the teams tried to open the traffic by warning the drivers.
