Egypt announced that it has reached a principled agreement on the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation regarding the United States' plan to forcibly displace Palestinians in Gaza.

Egypt announced that it has reached a principle agreement on the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) against the U.S. plan to forcibly displace Palestinians in Gaza.

According to a written statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egyptian Foreign Minister Bedr Abdulati discussed developments regarding the Palestinian issue in meetings with foreign ministers of some OIC member countries, including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, and Jordan, in recent days.

DECISION FOR EXTRAORDINARY MEETING

It was stated that during the contacts, a principle agreement was reached on the extraordinary meeting of the OIC at the ministerial level following the urgent Arab summit planned to be held in Cairo on February 27.

The meeting aims to reaffirm the unchangeable positions of Arab and Muslim countries on the Palestinian issue and their commitment to the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, primarily their right to self-determination and to live in their own land.

It was noted that no information was provided regarding the date of the OIC extraordinary meeting.

TRUMP'S GAZA PLAN

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Gaza is now a completely devastated area and suggested that it would be much better for Palestinians in Gaza to move to new settlements to be built in neighboring countries, primarily Egypt and Jordan. Trump said that Palestinians have no choice but to leave Gaza.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Egypt had announced that it would host an urgent Arab summit on February 27 to address the latest developments regarding the Palestinian issue.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had also called for an urgent meeting against the U.S. administration's plan to forcibly displace Palestinians in Gaza during a phone conversation with OIC Secretary-General Hussein Ibrahim Taha on February 9.
