The person who jumped from the pier into the sea in Izmir died after hitting the concrete.

A 55-year-old man, who allegedly plunged into the sea from the pier and hit the bottom, lost his life in the district of Foça in İzmir. An investigation has been launched by the prosecutor's office regarding the incident.

The incident took place today around 15:00 at Gencelli Public Beach in Cumhuriyet Neighborhood, which is affiliated with Foça. According to allegations, İlhan Günay (55) jumped into the sea headfirst from the concrete pier at the beach and hit the bottom. It is claimed that Günay hit his head on the rocks at the bottom of the sea, and those who saw him in the sea covered in blood reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, gendarmerie, health, and search and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.

NECK BROKEN, LOST HIS LIFE

During the examination conducted by the health teams, it was determined that İlhan Günay lost his life after breaking his neck. The lifeless body of the unfortunate man was taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy. The prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation into the incident.
