SECURITY MEASURES INCREASED IN İZNİK DUE TO POPE'S VISIT
Vatican State President Pope Leo XIII will make his first foreign trip to Turkey after starting his papal duties. The Pope will visit Turkey from November 27 to 30. During his visit to Turkey, he will be accompanied by Patriarch Bartholomew. The two will come to İznik on November 28 to celebrate the 1700th anniversary of the First Council, an important meeting in early Christian history. Ahead of the Pope's visit, security measures in the district have also been increased. Police teams have intensified peace and security operations throughout the district.
IDENTITY, LICENSE PLATES, AND DRIVER DOCUMENTS BEING CHECKED
At control points, vehicles are being stopped one by one to check identity, license plates, and driver documents. While pedestrian patrols have been increased in the streets and avenues of the district center, general checks are being conducted in parks, squares, and areas with high citizen density. Background checks are being conducted on individuals deemed suspicious, and information is being provided to drivers and passengers. It has been stated that simultaneous inspections will continue at various points to ensure peace and security throughout the district.
