Speaking at his party's group meeting, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made harsh statements regarding CHP leader Özgür Özel's organization of a rally in Brussels.
"SHAME ON YOU, BOO ON YOU"
Bahçeli stated, "It is unacceptable for Mr. Özgür to complain about our country to foreign powers at every opportunity and to say that our President has done nothing for Gaza." He added, "It is Turkey that holds up a mirror to those watching the genocide from the stands and asks, 'What are you waiting for?' The apology made in private after the fake bravado displayed in public is unacceptable. Mr. Özgür's path is not the right one. This noise of opposition targeting our Turkey in every country abroad is the delusion of a politician longing for a mandate. Mr. Özgür's trampling of our Turkey in Brussels is the decay of an immoral politics. It is enough to act firmly, to melt with love for the country, and not to compromise on being a man of integrity. No matter which country's opposition you examine, you will not see them complaining about their country and nation. Shame on you, and boo to those who are complicit in this," he said.
"ATATÜRK'S BONES ARE ACHING"
Bahçeli also reacted to Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was arrested on corruption charges, congratulating Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Corina Machado, saying, "The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to a lady from Venezuela. This lady demanded military intervention from the U.S. in her country. The former Mayor of Istanbul, who is in prison, also congratulated this person. This is what the CHP is! Atatürk's bones are aching. Virtue has been lost in the CHP. This peace prize is of course null and void. Take your award and use it as you wish, then put it on your head like a hat. Those who slander the president in foreign countries belong anywhere outside our homeland. We want the broken arm to stay within the sleeve. Complaining about our country to foreigners is not an honorable attitude. The CHP is on the wrong path, and the person at the helm is in a state of hysteria," he stated.
