In Syria, Turkey's border neighbor, HTS, the Syrian National Army (SNA), and the armed groups accompanying them have revolted against the ousted Assad regime forces in the city of Homs.
14 PEOPLE KILLED IN AMBUSH
The new government's Interior Minister, Muhammad Abdurrahman, stated in an interview with Syria's official news agency SANA that elements of the ousted Bashar Assad regime ambushed forces affiliated with the Ministry of Interior in Tartus. Abdurrahman said, "In the ambush set up against the forces affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, which are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the people in the rural areas of Tartus, 14 people were killed, and 10 others were injured."
ADDITIONAL FORCES SENT TO THE REGION
The Syrian Ministry of Interior launched an operation against the supporters of the ousted regime who took to the streets calling for a revolt in the city of Homs. The SNA sent additional forces to the region to counter the provocations in Homs.
CURFEW IMPOSED
A curfew has been declared in the cities of Homs, Latakia, Jableh, and Tartus until tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, SNA forces have begun to capture the provocateurs who instigated the uprising.
PROVOCATIONS CONTINUE
The Syrian Ministry of Interior stated that the images shared were from an earlier date and that government officials were making every effort to protect religious sites. It was revealed that one of the individuals making provocative attempts by calling for uprisings in some cities of Syria was a Lebanese citizen. The provocations began less than 24 hours after the Syrian transitional government warned Iran, with Shiite and Christian communities taking to the streets.
The events raised questions as they started following the threatening statements of Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif. Zarif had indicated that much would change in Syria in the future and that those speaking of victory in Syria should wait. The Foreign Minister of the Syrian transitional government, Assad Hasan Shaybani, warned Iran by saying, "Iran must respect the will of the Syrian people, the sovereignty of the country, and its territorial integrity."
