Recently, news that "Afghan, Iraqi, and Syrian criminals are being sent from Europe to Turkey by plane" has gained significant attention.
The response to these claims came from the Disinformation Combat Center. The center announced through its social media account that the claims have no basis in reality.
A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED
In a statement from DMM, it was emphasized that the news is disinformation. The statement included the following remarks:
"The claim that 'Afghan, Iraqi, and Syrian criminals are being sent from Europe to Turkey by plane' is completely disinformation. Turkey has no practice of accepting citizens of third countries from other countries. The return of foreigners with criminal records or without legal residence rights to Turkey is not possible. Turkey only conducts procedures regarding its own citizens on an individual basis, within the framework of international law and after the necessary review and appeal processes have been completed. There is no question of sending citizens of third countries to Turkey in bulk or individually. A criminal complaint has been filed with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the disinformation content shared, under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237 for the crime of 'Publicly Disseminating Misleading Information.' It is important for the public to pay attention to the statements made by official authorities and not to give credence to such disinformation from uncertain sources."
