The school principal Ender Kara, who was seriously injured after a student fired a gun in the schoolyard in the Anamur district of Mersin, has been discharged after successful treatment. The student and his father were arrested in connection with the incident.
In the Anamur district of Mersin, the principal who was seriously injured after a student opened fire with a rifle in the schoolyard was discharged following treatment at the hospital. The treatment of the school principal Ender Kara (39), who was seriously injured when student M.K. (12) fired a rifle on December 22 at Rüştü Kazım Yücelen Middle School, has been completed at Mersin University Hospital.
THERE WAS INJURY TO THE LIVER AND DIAPHRAGM MUSCLE
Kara, treated by a team led by General Surgery Department Faculty Member Dr. Sami Benli, has regained his health. Benli told reporters that the treatment process went successfully. He stated that there was an injury to the liver and diaphragm muscle, saying, "We stopped the bleeding in the liver, and we made our repairs. We also repaired the diaphragm muscle. Today we are discharging our patient."
WHAT HAPPENED?
On December 22, in the Çarıklar neighborhood of Anamur district, Ender Kara was seriously injured when student M.K. opened fire with a rifle in the schoolyard, and he was transferred to Mersin University Hospital after interventions at Anamur State Hospital.
Student M.K. and his father Y.K. were taken into custody by gendarmerie teams as part of the investigation conducted by the Anamur Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. After their procedures, M.K. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested on charges of "attempting to kill due to the public duty performed by a person with premeditation," while his father was arrested for "instigating the attempt to kill due to the public duty performed by a person with premeditation."
