A 48-year-old Indian tourist fell into a hole on Jalan Masjid India street in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last Friday. According to reports, the woman was walking on the sidewalk when the ground suddenly collapsed by 8 meters, causing her to fall. Search and rescue operations were initiated after the incident. Kuala Lumpur rescue teams will use high-pressure water jets to cut through the debris between two manholes in order to find the missing tourist. According to Channel News Asia, this operation will be carried out between the manhole at the scene and another point 69 meters away. The news source also mentioned that Kuala Lumpur City Hall provided an update on the search and rescue operations, stating that cleaning efforts at a different manhole further away, where slow-flowing water was detected from Sunday evening to Monday morning, were unsuccessful. According to Kuala Lumpur City Hall, rescue teams are still conducting search operations at the Pantai Dalam sewage treatment plant, where the sewer system ends. Officials stated that the search will continue until the missing woman is found. A video of the Indian woman was also shared on social media. In the footage, she can be seen walking on the sidewalk when the ground suddenly collapses. Within a second, the woman falls inside, leaving witnesses in shock. A task force consisting of the Mineral and Geoscience Department, Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Royal Malaysia Police, and Ministry of Works has been formed to find the woman.
