Due to the heavy snowfall that has increased its impact in Bolu, a truck lost control and slid into the ditch on the Abant Junction connection road. The Bolu Mountain route, where the snow depth has exceeded 40 centimeters, has been closed to heavy-tonnage vehicles.
The heavy snowfall, which intensified in the evening hours in Bolu, is negatively affecting transportation. A truck, whose driver's name has not been learned, lost control and slid into the ditch on the Abant Junction connection road due to the slippery ground while trying to exit the TEM Highway. There were no injuries in the accident, but work has begun to recover the truck.
SNOW DEPTH EXCEEDED 40 CENTIMETERS
With the continuous rainfall in the region, the snow depth on Bolu Mountain, one of Turkey's most important transit routes, has exceeded 40 centimeters. While the highway teams continue their snow plowing and salting operations without interruption, police teams have also intensified their inspections.
PASSAGE OF HEAVY-TONNAGE VEHICLES ON BOLU MOUNTAIN CLOSED
Due to the heavy snowfall and the risk of icing, the D-100 highway passage through Bolu Mountain has been closed to heavy-tonnage vehicles in the directions of Istanbul and Ankara. Police teams are directing trucks and lorries from the Elmalık Junction to the TEM Highway. It has been learned that heavy-tonnage vehicles will be allowed to pass after the snowfall in the region decreases and the road becomes safe.
