The statement of Gökhan Kıratlı, who attempted to abduct a 9-year-old child in Diyarbakır, has emerged. In his statement, Kıratlı said, "I wanted to go to prison. I did not approach the child with bad intentions. I felt a momentary hatred because I saw my childhood in him." He was arrested and sent to prison.
On August 27th, around noon, in the Yenişehir neighborhood of Diyarbakır, a man named Gökhan Kıratlı (28) attempted to abduct a boy he was holding by his t-shirt.
HEROIC TRADER SAVED THE CHILD
During this time, a trader selling construction materials, Ahmet Aslan (42), intervened when the child cried out, "Brother, save me." The child managed to escape from Gökhan Kıratlı's grasp. Aslan broke two fingers when his punch aimed at the suspect hit a pavement stand. While the suspect was fleeing, police teams were dispatched to the address following a tip-off.
CAUGHT AND ARRESTED IN THE MOSQUE GARDEN
After the family filed a complaint, the police began examining security footage from the area and the City Security Management System (KGYS). With the efforts of the Gasp Bureau of the Public Order Branch Directorate, Kıratlı was caught in the garden of a mosque in the Bağcılar neighborhood of the Bağlar district where he was hiding. It was revealed that Kıratlı had four criminal records, and he was arrested after processing.
INCIDENTS CAPTURED ON CAMERA
Meanwhile, the moments when the suspect attempted to abduct the child, Ahmet Aslan's intervention, and the family's visit to thank Aslan, as well as the moments when the child tried to hug Aslan while attempting to kiss his hand, were captured on security cameras.
"I WANTED TO GO TO PRISON"
Kıratlı stated in his testimony at the court: "I have psychological problems, so I can't make ends meet. I wanted to go to prison. I did not approach the child with bad intentions."
"I FELT HATRED WHEN I SAW MY CHILDHOOD IN HIM"
I felt a moment of hatred because I saw my childhood in him. I came to Diyarbakır about 10 days ago. On the day of the incident, I had just left the courthouse after giving a statement. Later, while walking, I encountered this child.
"I GRABBED HIM BY HIS CLOTHES AND MADE HIM WALK ANGRILY"
In a moment, I grabbed him by his clothes and started to get angry at the child, making him walk angrily. After that, the child started to cry. I let him go. The traders intervened, and there was a scuffle between us and the traders. They asked me what was happening. I said, 'I am a relative, why should I be angry with you?' I said this to avoid any incident with the traders.
