A comment on the Talat Pasha debate that took place in the Turkish Grand National Assembly came from Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu, who was removed from his position as the Governor of Tunceli and reassigned to the center. In a social media post, Tekbıyıkoğlu said, "If I had the power, I would cut off the tongues that reach out to Mustafa Kemal, Talat, and Enver at the root."

Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu, who was removed from the position of Governor of Tunceli and appointed as Chief Inspector, drew attention with his social media post about Talat Pasha.

Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu, the Governor of Tunceli and the trustee of Tunceli Municipality, was pulled to the center by the decision of the Ministry of Interior after a crisis that allegedly occurred following the permission granted for a memorial ceremony for two PKK executives. According to the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Erdoğan, Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu, who was pulled to the center, was appointed as Governor - Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Interior.

ALLEGATION OF A CRISIS CAUSED BY PKK COMMEMORATION

After the permission granted for a memorial ceremony for two PKK executives held on May 17 in Tunceli, Tekbıyıkoğlu had submitted a petition to the Ministry of Interior to be pulled to the center and assigned as Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Interior.

HE REQUESTED TO BE PULLED TO THE CENTER

In a statement made after his transfer to the center, it was revealed that this decision was made at his own request. The former governor stated that he had requested to be pulled to the center by submitting a petition to the Ministry of Interior.

The Ministry of Interior stated the following in a public announcement:

"Mr. Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu, the Governor of Tunceli, has been assigned to the Ministry of Interior. Mr. Ertuğrul Aslan, the Deputy Governor, has been appointed as acting governor of Tunceli. We respectfully announce to the public."

MAHMUT ESAT BOZKURT QUOTE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

After the change of duty, Tekbıyıkoğlu broke his silence on social media and made a striking post. He shared the following words of Mahmut Esat Bozkurt, one of the early legal scholars of the Republic:

"If I had the power to cut off the tongues that reach out to Mustafa Kemal, Talat, and Enver, I would cut them off at the root."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Speaking in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, DEM Party Mardin Deputy George Aslan said the following regarding the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality's construction of a statue of Talat Pasha:

"In 1915, while the Ottoman population was 13 million, approximately three million of this population consisted of Christian peoples, namely Armenians, Greeks, and Assyrians. Today, we are in the year 2025, exactly 110 years have passed. While Turkey's population is 86 million, under normal circumstances, the population of Christian peoples should also reach millions, but why is it expressed in tens of thousands? What happened to these people? There was no answer to this question I asked. While we expect a sincere reckoning with the genocide against Christian peoples in 1915, on the contrary, the names of the perpetrators are being given to public spaces, streets, parks, and schools, and their monuments are being erected. A monument was built for Talat Pasha in the Altındağ district by Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş. Instead of erecting a monument for the tens of thousands of Armenians who were killed, exiled, and whose properties were seized in 1915, we do not accept the erection of a monument for someone who gave the order for their deaths. For one people, some individuals may be heroes, but for other peoples, these individuals are not heroes; they are murderers."
