Fraudsters who introduced themselves as police and prosecutors were caught in Ankara. Approximately 15 million lira worth of money and jewelry was returned to its owner.
Suspects who defrauded a woman by posing as police and prosecutors in Ankara have been caught. Approximately 15 million lira worth of cash and jewelry seized has been returned to its owner. Following the instructions of the Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Etimesgut District Police Department initiated an operation to capture the suspects who defrauded a woman by introducing themselves as police and prosecutors.
ONE OF THE SUSPECTS WAS DETAINED AT THE ADDRESS HE WAS STAYING
Investigations revealed that the suspects had frightened the victim into calling her to a camera-free area located kilometers away and had taken approximately 15 million lira worth of cash and jewelry in person. The teams detained one of the identified suspects at the address he was staying. It was determined that the suspect intended to deliver the money he received from the victim to other individuals. Other suspects were caught red-handed when they arrived at the address to collect the money. The cash and jewelry seized during the operation were returned to their owner.
After their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the courthouse.
