In Adana, 51-year-old history teacher Nevin Vurunbiği, due to issues with her father, donated 2 houses, two vehicles, and 2 million lira of her savings to the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK). Vurunbiği was hospitalized under police escort after a "psychosis" diagnosis was made in the guardianship case filed by her father.
FATHER FILED A GUARDIANSHIP CASE AFTER DONATING HER ASSETS TO TSK
51-year-old history teacher Nevin Vurunbiği, who has two houses, two vehicles, and approximately 2 million lira in savings in a bank in Silifke, Mersin, and Adana, became involved in a legal and psychiatric process after a serious disagreement with her 77-year-old father. Allegedly, the father wanted the house in Silifke to be transferred to his name. The teacher Vurunbiği, who rejected this request, donated all her assets to the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) due to increasing pressure. After learning that his daughter had donated all her assets to TSK, the father filed a guardianship case, and a freeze was placed on the teacher's bank accounts.
TWO SEPARATE REPORTS ISSUED FROM THE SAME HOSPITAL
During the period when she donated her assets to TSK, teacher Vurunbiği received a report from the same hospital stating "She is healthy, can buy and sell assets." However, just a year later, she was diagnosed with "psychosis" at the same hospital. Additionally, it was decided that the teacher would be hospitalized and observed by court order. Following this, although the teacher did not go to the hospital for a while, she was taken to the hospital today under police escort. The teacher was hospitalized at Dr. Ekrem Tok Mental Health and Diseases Hospital due to her father's guardianship case because she donated her assets to TSK.
"I WAS LEFT IN AN UNJUST SITUATION"
Vurunbiği, who will spend the New Year in the hospital, stated before being hospitalized, "I am here because I bequeathed my assets to the Turkish Armed Forces, due to the guardianship case filed by my father. I have been sent here by court order. If I did not want to come, I would have been brought by force by the police. I am clear-headed, my head is held high, I came to implement whatever the court decision is. I have been left in an unjust situation," she said. Vurunbiği continued: "It is really a very sad situation. As a teacher, I am here with a non-existent illness. When this decision comes from my closest one, it makes a person even sadder. But I and all of Turkey know that this is not the case. I believe I will have my examination and come out with a clear conscience. Right now, the police are waiting at the door. I will enter with their escort," she said.
