GAS FROM AZERBAIJAN WILL BE EXPORTED TO ALEPPO THROUGH KILIS

The natural gas pipeline extending from Kilis to Aleppo was completed in May, and after some technical adjustments, the first gas flow occurred today. During this process, Turkey collaborated with Azerbaijan and Qatar, and while Azerbaijani gas will be exported to the region, Qatar financed part of the pipeline. Today, natural gas coming from Azerbaijan will be exported to Aleppo through Kilis.

THE ELECTRICITY NEEDS OF 1.6 MILLION HOUSEHOLDS IN SYRIA WILL BE MET

Turkey is taking an active role in the process of restructuring Syria's energy infrastructure, aiming to increase the electricity supply in Syria from just 3-4 hours a day to 10 hours with the mentioned natural gas. Currently, Turkey is also exporting electricity to northern Syria, and there are plans to increase this export to 280 megawatts through existing lines. Efforts are ongoing to reactivate the previously used Birecik-Aleppo line, which had a capacity of approximately 500 megawatts. While there is significant damage on the Syrian side of the line, once this line is operational, nearly 900 megawatts of electricity will be delivered to Syria, meeting the needs of approximately 1.6 million households. Additionally, with the planned 6 million cubic meters of gas for Syria, another 1200 megawatts of electricity generation can be realized.
