The beIN Trio team deemed the yellow card for Orkun's intervention in the Trabzonspor–Beşiktaş match to be correct, while the red card shown to El Bilal Toure was considered a serious mistake and a wrong VAR intervention by the Trio team.
After the match between Trabzonspor and Beşiktaş ended in a 3-3 draw, the beIN Trio team evaluated the critical and controversial referee decisions one by one. The common and differing opinions of Deniz Çoban, Bahattin Duran, and Bülent Yıldırım drew attention.
MIN 5: ORKUN'S INTERVENTION ON SERDAR
The yellow card decision given for Orkun's intervention on Serdar in the 5th minute was discussed in detail. Bahattin Duran stated that the position was borderline, but that the yellow card was the correct decision in its current form. He emphasized that if the intervention had occurred slightly higher, a red card would have been inevitable. Deniz Çoban expressed that there was no power transfer, and therefore the yellow card was correct in terms of criteria. Bülent Yıldırım also stated that the intervention remained within the limits of a reckless foul and that the yellow card was sufficient.
THE DEBATE OVER EL BILAL TOURE'S RED CARD
The red card shown to El Bilal Toure in the 36th minute of the match was the decision that the Trio team criticized the most harshly. Bahattin Duran argued that there was no brutality or power transfer in the position, and therefore a yellow card would have been sufficient. He described the VAR intervention as "very wrong."
Deniz Çoban pointed out that the criteria for a red card were not met in this position and highlighted Ozan Tufan's lack of reaction. He stated that Ozan's immediate recovery was the biggest indication that the position was not injurious. Çoban emphasized that while a red card could be understood if given on the field, the VAR intervention was unacceptable.
Bülent Yıldırım similarly expressed that the position was definitely not a red card, stating that if there had been a power transfer, the player would not have been able to get up, and clearly articulated his view that it should have been a yellow card.
