NUMBER OF ICE OFFICERS IN MINNESOTA IS BEING REDUCED

Homan, who held a press conference in Minnesota, reported that the Trump administration decided to reduce the number of officers in the state after state and local officials agreed to cooperate in handing over arrested undocumented immigrants.

700 WILL BE WITHDRAWN

Homan said, "I announce that we will withdraw 700 law enforcement personnel effective immediately due to the unprecedented cooperation and the creation of a safer environment where less security personnel will be needed."

Sharing the belief that the ICE operation in Minnesota was successful, Homan stated, "Was it a perfect operation? No. No. We established a single chain of command to ensure everyone was on the same page, and we are confident that we followed the rules. I don't think anyone did something intentionally that they shouldn't have."

Tom Homan shared that "about 2,000" immigration officers will continue to operate in Minnesota, a number that was between 100 and 150 before the operation began.
