The three-story "underground city" built by the terrorist organization YPG under a mountain in the Sarrin district of the Ayn al-Arab region, connected by numerous tunnels, has been revealed.
The Syrian army uncovered a tunnel network built under a mountain in the Sarrin district of Ayn al-Arab, which it liberated from the occupation of the terrorist organization YPG, following an operation.
Inside these tunnels, which are interconnected and built in three levels, a large number of ammunition and documents belonging to the terrorist organization were seized.
WIDE ENOUGH FOR PICKUPS TO ENTER
It is noteworthy that some parts of the tunnels resembling an underground city are built to a size and width that allows cars or pickups to enter comfortably.
THERE'S EVEN A CINEMA HALL
Many tunnels, which also have electrical and water network lines installed, resemble a labyrinth. Some sections of the interconnected tunnels also feature armored doors. The "underground city" built for the members of the terrorist organization contains numerous kitchens and bedrooms. The "underground city" also includes a cinema hall, an amphitheater, and an oven, adorned with organizational symbols and posters.
Inside the structure, in addition to the organizational symbols, tools and equipment used for digging the tunnels are also displayed. This site in Sarrin stands out as one of the largest tunnel networks identified in the areas reclaimed by the Syrian army from the terrorist organization.
ONE OF THE COMMAND CENTERS OF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION
Brigadier General Seyf Polat, commander of the 76th Division of the Syrian army, made evaluations during his inspections in the tunnel in Sarrin. Polat stated that this structure in Sarrin is one of the "command centers" of the terrorist organization.
Polat expressed that this underground city is one of the important strategic centers for the organization, stating that the Syrian army has taken security measures in the tunnels it has secured and has cleared the mines laid by the organization.
Polat reported that many publications belonging to the terrorist organization were also found in the tunnels, saying:
"The terrorist organization has used these to encourage Kurdish children to resort to terrorist methods and change their lives. They prepared these to mislead Kurdish youth, sowing seeds of discord and division among Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians, and Turkmen, aiming to disrupt the fabric of Syria. However, all of this, the (terrorist organization's) dreams of establishing a state in northeastern Syria have been destroyed thanks to the heroes of the Syrian Ministry of Defense, with the permission of Allah Almighty."
Polat added that they aim to turn this place into a museum to show future generations what the terrorist organization has done.
