Violence against women continues to change in scale as long as perpetrators do not receive deterrent punishments. Most recently, on November 24 at around 03:00, an incident of violence against a woman occurred at a kokoreç restaurant in Taksim. BOYFRIEND ASSAULTED HER AT THE KOKOREÇ RESTAURANTThe couple, Elif K. and Burak K., who came to the kokoreç restaurant, started arguing after a while due to "jealousy." After looking at Burak K's mobile phone, Elif K. sat back down. The couple continued to argue even after their order arrived. Burak K slapped Elif K, and then threw cola and potatoes at her from the table. WAITERS BEAT HIM WITH KICKS AND PUNCHESIn response, the waiters Tekin İ. (27), Adem İ. (33), and Hüseyin K. (20) retaliated with violence. Burak K, who was beaten for minutes with kicks and punches by the waiters, was thrown outside. The events were captured by security cameras second by second, while Burak K filed a complaint against the waiters. THEY WERE RELEASEDThe three waiters who were detained were subjected to legal action for the crime of "intentional injury." The three suspects, who were referred to the courthouse, were released by the court under judicial control conditions. It was learned that Elif K. did not file a complaint against her boyfriend Burak K.
