The father of Martyr Airplane Maintenance Non-Commissioned Officer Ilhan Ongan, one of the 20 soldiers who were martyred in the plane crash, tearfully recounted the moments he spoke with his son before the plane took off. The martyr's father said, "'I'll call you when I arrive.' He said, 'I'll call you when I get there,' but he didn't come, he didn't come. My son couldn't come, my son is still not here. They should bring my son back." His words broke hearts.
20 of our soldiers were martyred in the C130 military cargo plane belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces that crashed on the Azerbaijan-Georgia border. The martyrdom news of Non-Commissioned Officer İlhan Ongan (31), who was an Aircraft Maintenance NCO, was given to his family in Bilecik yesterday.
HE SPOKE WITH HIS FATHER BEFORE THE PLANE TOOK OFF
A large Turkish flag was also hung at the home of the martyr's father, Ali Ongan, and mother, Hatice Ongan, who live on Güllü Street in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood. One of the 20 martyrs in the C130 cargo plane, Non-Commissioned Officer İlhan Ongan, shared the moments he spoke with his son before the plane took off, with tears in his eyes.
"HE SAID, 'I WILL CALL YOU WHEN I GET THERE,' BUT MY SON DID NOT COME"
Father Ali Ongan said, "He told me, 'I put on my clothes, there is a lot of fog, our plane has arrived.' I asked, 'When will you take off?' He said, 'I will call you when I get there.' He said, 'I will call you when I get there,' but he did not come, he did not come. My son could not come, my son is still not here. They should bring my son," he said.
