The Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) had blocked access to the popular game Roblox among children in August. The gaming platform was banned from access by the decision of the Adana 6th Criminal Peace Court. Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç stated regarding the ban of Roblox in Turkey, "It should not be forgotten that the Republic of Turkey is a state of law. Our state is obliged to take necessary measures to protect our children according to our Constitution." "WE RESPECT THE LAWS AND REGULATIONS IN TURKEY"After approximately a month, Roblox made an official statement regarding the ban in Turkey. The official statement by Roblox included the following words: "On September 2, 2024, we filed an appeal against the final decision of the Adana 6th Criminal Peace Court. We respect the court process and cannot comment on the details of the case due to ongoing legal procedures. Roblox respects the local laws and regulations in Turkey and collaborates with local authorities to restore access to the platform for our users and prioritize the safety of Roblox users." Through collaboration and interaction, we believe that Roblox will play a live and positive role in the Turkish community as a platform for learning, creating, and making meaningful connections. Our vision is to redesign how people come together in a safe, civilized, and optimistic world. "WE ARE COMMITTED TO FULFILLING OUR GLOBAL COMMITMENT"We have a deep commitment to safety and have comprehensive proactive and preventive security measures in place to enforce our Community Standards, detect and prevent malicious or harmful activities. By collaborating with authorities in Turkey and other regions around the world, we are committed to addressing the unique needs of each market and fulfilling our global commitment to security and courtesy."
