As part of the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 13 individuals who were detained three days ago along with Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan on charges of "embezzlement" were sent to the courthouse in the morning.
Three days ago, Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan and 13 others who were taken into custody as part of the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office have completed their procedures at the gendarmerie. After a two-day statement process coordinated by the Bolu Provincial Gendarmerie Command, the suspects were subjected to a health check early in the morning.
THEY WERE SENT TO COURT
After the health checks, Tanju Özcan, along with Deputy Mayor Süleyman Can, Financial Affairs Director Naim Ayhan, Bolsev Foundation Board Chairman Ali Sarıyıldız, City Council Members Hüseyin Ekrem Serin, Buse Özkan, and Cahit Görüş, Zoning Director Sinan Pekcan, Zoning Directorate employee Yasin Bargaç, Fire Chief (former Human Resources Director) Mehmet Ağan, former Zoning Director Hakan Yılmaz, former Writing Affairs Director Tahsin Arslan, and former City Council Member and former Bolu Bel A.Ş. Board Chairman Ergün Temel were sent to court.
EXTENSIVE SECURITY MEASURES AROUND THE COURT
The suspects were brought to Bolu Courthouse by gendarmerie vehicles. Police teams took extensive security measures around the courthouse. After the procedures at the prosecutor's office, it is expected that the 13 individuals will be brought to court today.
HIS STATEMENT HAD ALSO EMERGED
Özcan stated in his statement at the gendarmerie that the first inspector report shown to him had been previously notified to him and was in his favor. He indicated that the second report, which was against him, had not been notified to him, asserting that if it had been notified, they would have taken the necessary steps, claiming it was "null and void."
