While fluctuations in Brent crude oil prices continue, gasoline and diesel prices are also changing with news of discounts and price increases. Starting from midnight tonight, a discount of 1 lira 30 kuruş is expected for gasoline and 1 lira 38 kuruş for diesel. With the discount reflected at the pump, the price of gasoline in Istanbul will be sold at 52 lira per liter, while diesel will be sold at 52 lira 12 kuruş.
Citizens continue to monitor gasoline and diesel prices along with changes in Brent oil prices and currency exchange rates.
DOUBLE DISCOUNT ON FUEL AT MIDNIGHT
Sources from the fuel sector indicated that a discount of 1.30 TL on the price of gasoline per liter and 1.38 TL on the price of diesel per liter is expected to take effect from midnight tonight.
GASOLINE WILL BE SOLD FOR 52 LIRA IN ISTANBUL
With the discount reflected at the pump, gasoline will be sold for 52 lira per liter in Istanbul, while diesel will be sold for 52 lira and 12 kuruş.
HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?
Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average prices of refined products in the Mediterranean market, which includes Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by distribution companies may show slight variations due to competition and freedom among companies and cities.
EPGIS HAD DECIDED NOT TO ANNOUNCE PRICE CHANGES
After the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) filed a complaint against EPGIS, the only union that announces changes in prices, the union stated that it would not share fuel price changes with citizens until the legal process is concluded.
