Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump is a strong signal for dialogue, saying, "We will talk about peace, not war, from now on." Peskov also expressed that they would be pleased with Trump's participation in the events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated in an interview with the "Rossiya-1" television channel that he made remarks regarding the relations between Russia and the USA and the resolution of the Ukraine crisis.
"NOW WE WILL TALK ABOUT PEACE, NOT WAR"
Evaluating the phone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump last week, Peskov said, "This is a strong signal that we will now try to solve problems through dialogue. We will talk about peace, not war." Peskov noted that there was no dialogue with the previous US administration and expressed that they value Trump's approach to solving problems through dialogue.
INVITATION TO TRUMP
Peskov stated that a face-to-face meeting between Putin and Trump requires special preparation and expressed that they would be pleased with the participation of any head of state, including Trump, in the events to be held on May 9 Victory Day, marking the 80th anniversary of the former Soviet Union's defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. Spokesman Peskov emphasized that Trump could come to Russia whenever he wanted.
"IF THESE AGREEMENTS HAD BEEN IMPLEMENTED, UKRAINE WOULD BE WHOLE"
Reminding that they tried to resolve the pre-war Ukraine issue with the Minsk agreements, Peskov stated, "If these agreements had been implemented, Ukraine would be whole." Peskov expressed that the West deceived Russia and noted that they would take into account the experiences they gained regarding these agreements in relations with the West and that Kiev did not act independently.
