The recent theft incident in London, the capital of England, has raised concerns about the security vulnerabilities of modern vehicles. Two thieves used a special electronic device to steal a luxury electric car worth £60,000 while the family was at home. In the incident captured by security camera footage, two thieves dressed in black were seen disabling the car's security system with a Game Boy-like device in just 20 seconds. Experts indicate that particularly Hyundai Ioniq 5 models are targeted using this method. The car owner, Mikail (33), stated, "I received a notification on my phone while sitting at home. When I looked out the window, the car was gone. My children were very scared." Mikail mentioned that he found his car in the Streatham area thanks to an AirTag device, saying, "If it weren't for this device, my car could be abroad or dismantled right now." After the incident, the victim harshly criticized Hyundai, saying, "Instead of producing cars safely, they ask customers to take extra security measures. No official takes responsibility." The police, who launched an investigation into the incident, found that the thieves attempted to make purchases from various businesses using the stolen bank cards. Security experts emphasize that keyless entry systems in modern vehicles pose serious risks and that car owners need to take additional security measures. Recently, there has been an increase in vehicle thefts in England using similar methods. Authorities are warning vehicle owners to be cautious and to take extra security measures.
