An operation was carried out against loan sharks who were found to be pressuring citizens in Ankara and Diyarbakır by lending money at high interest rates and seizing the assets of citizens who could not make payments through threats. In the operations, movements totaling 25 billion 119 million TL were detected in the accounts of 32 suspects who were captured. 18 suspects, whose assets worth 2 billion 200 million TL were confiscated, were arrested.

Operations were carried out by the General Command of Gendarmerie against the crimes of "Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes, Usury, and Qualified Robbery" in Ankara and Diyarbakır.

25 BILLION LIRA ACCOUNT MOVEMENT DETECTED

It was determined that the accounts of 32 suspects contained account movements totaling 25 billion 119 million lira. 18 of the suspects, whose assets worth 2 billion 200 million lira were seized, were arrested. Judicial control measures were applied to 12 of them.

As a result of the data from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), 123 properties, 38 vehicles, and 180 bank accounts belonging to suspects who also committed the crime of "Money Laundering from Criminal Activities" in an organized manner were seized. As a result of the operations; various amounts of checks/promissory notes and title deeds issued in the names of different individuals, a large number of weapons, digital materials, and documents were confiscated.

It was determined that the suspects pressured citizens by lending them money at high interest rates, made them sign blank or high-value checks and promissory notes as collateral, and seized the assets of citizens who could not make payments through threats and pressure.
