After the heavy rainfall in the Turgutlu district of Manisa, the road collapsed. A skull and bone fragments, believed to belong to a person, were found in the soil. The findings were sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution for identification and further examination.
A chilling incident occurred in the Yaprak Street of the İstasyonaltı neighborhood in the Turgutlu district of Manisa. After the heavy rainfall that affected the district, the road collapsed. Citizens who were examining the collapsed area noticed bone fragments in the soil and reported the situation to the police.
Upon the notification, security forces were dispatched to the area. The police took security measures around the area and closed the street to pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The Crime Scene Investigation teams and municipal officials conducted excavation and examination work in coordination.
HUMAN SKULL AND BONES FOUND
As a result of the work carried out, a skull believed to belong to a human and various bone fragments were found near the surface. The findings were sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution for identification and detailed examination upon the instruction of the public prosecutor.
WHO IT BELONGS TO WILL BE INVESTIGATED
It was reported that an investigation has been initiated to determine to whom the bones belong and the background of the incident. Some citizens living in the area claimed that the site was previously an old cemetery and that the found bones might belong to ancient graves. It was learned that the definitive results would become clear after the examination to be conducted at the Forensic Medicine Institution.
