In the "Paramonut Hotel" investigation, Cihan Ekşioğlu, Çağlar Şendil, and Sinan Görkem Gökçe were arrested. A house arrest decision was made for Şaban Kayıkçı, while judicial control in the form of signing was imposed on Melike Yüksel.
The investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes Investigation Bureau regarding the crimes of "establishing an organization to commit a crime," "usury," and "money laundering of assets derived from crime" is ongoing.
THE COURT HAS RENDERED ITS DECISION
Prominent figures in the business world, Cihan Ekşioğlu, Çağlar Şendil, and 5 suspects were detained on charges of money laundering. One of the individuals subject to a detention order was businessman Sezgin Baran Korkmaz.
The court has rendered its decision regarding the individuals who were referred to the court for arrest in the "Paramount Hotel" investigation.
3 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED
The court decided to arrest Cihan Ekşioğlu, Çağlar Şendil, and Sinan Görkem Gökçe. Additionally, house arrest was ordered for Şaban Kayıkçı, and judicial control in the form of signing was ordered for Melike Yüksel.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
By the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a detention order was issued for 7 individuals, including businessman Cihan Ekşioğlu and Sezgin Baran Korkmaz, who is known to be in the USA, under the investigation conducted for the charges of "money laundering of assets derived from crime," "establishing an organization to commit a crime," and "usury."
In the operation carried out by the teams, suspects Ekşioğlu, Kayıkçı, Şendil, Yüksel, and Gökçe were detained.
A TRUSTEE HAD BEEN APPOINTED TO THE HOTEL
In the investigation where Ufuk Tourism Enterprises Inc. is the complainant, it was determined that the suspects had indebted this company, taking advantage of its foreclosure, to companies that were under their management in 2019 and thereafter, and that they had given the debt to the complainant company by charging interest.
It was also determined that the suspects had acquired the superior right of the complainant company over The Plaza Bodrum (formerly Jumeirah Hotel, Paramount Hotel, Be Premium Hotel) located in Bodrum, Muğla, and that Cihan Ekşioğlu and Şaban Kayıkçı operated the hotel together.
As part of the investigation, the partnership share in The Plaza Bodrum Hotel in Bodrum, where Kayıkçı is the authorized representative, and Bodrum Hotel Enterprises Inc. was seized. In this context, the Bodrum Hotel Enterprises Inc. was appointed a trustee by the peace criminal court.
